Start with the work already underway
South First already has a foundation.
Businesses, neighborhood groups, advocates, the City, and CapMetro have already organized, planned, or built improvements here. The useful next move is to connect that work and identify the gaps.

Who is doing what.
Each entry names public work we could verify and the question the Alliance still needs to ask. An organization listed here is not automatically an Alliance partner.

A concrete improvement already completed
Safer access to Route 10.
In January 2025, the City and CapMetro finished work on 13 bus stops between Ben White and Gibson. Midblock stops were moved closer to crossings, selected stops were closed to improve spacing, and other stops were rebuilt.

Document the impact, business by business.
The City’s 2024 district strategy says about 85 businesses were in the Gibson-to-Oltorf district and names 38 participants. That public list is our starting point. It does not show current Alliance support, and it does not cover the full corridor to Ben White.
“2024 participant” means the business took part in the City-supported district process. “Not contacted” and “Unknown” are the current Alliance defaults. Operating status also needs a fresh check. Businesses can correct or add their information below.
